Estimators / Project Managers

This role will have you working as the Estimator responsible for all quoting and tendering functions as well as providing Project Management support to our site teams.

The role of Estimator / Project Manager brings unique challenges requiring a responsive and flexible approach to differing project scopes of work and contract format, subcontractor engagement and client relationships.  Your ability to adapt and deliver customer focused outcomes and adjust to the individual servicing needs of government and corporate clients is what sets you apart.

You will take a lead role in project start-up through to final handover:

  • Defining scopes of work,
  • Coordinating project costs within budgets and
  • Engaging subcontractors and
  • Managing the project documentation and administrative responsibilities.

This position will ideally suit individuals with commercial building and construction experience.  Flexibility exists to consider experienced tradesmen or tertiary qualified practitioners who have strong estimating and contracts administration experience.

Candidates with local contractor and industry knowledge through actual delivery of Commercial Office and Retail Building and Fit Out Projects who thrive on activity and making things happen will be highly regarded.

Estimating Responsibilities:

  • Preparing estimates, quotes and trade-breakdowns
  • Preparing tender documentation
  • Filing all related documentation in electronic filing system (tender documentation, quotes, correspondence, etc)

Project Management:

  • Organising Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
  • Approving timesheets for site personnel
  • Allocating cost codes to invoices and expenses
  • Monitoring progress for monthly Progress Claims
  • Electronic filing of project documentation and correspondence

Specific Experience and Skills Required:

  • Experienced with Buildsoft or Cubit-7 estimating software is a prerequisite
  • Experience with electronic filing databases
  • Excellent MS Office skills – particularly Outlook, Word and Excel

  • A “Can Do” attitude with a constant drive to be proactive and meet deadlines
  • Ability to have a keen eye for detail and be able to multitask
  • Ability to communicate in a clear manner with management and other stakeholders
  • Ability to follow procedures and learn new systems quickly
