Young’s Buses Yeppoon

Before and after shots of Young’s Buses office in Yeppoon. Though only a small project this job posed a few logistical problems  such as working in between 2 existing buildings and limited access from the front and the rear.

We are eternally grateful to the local business adjoining the site for their co-operation and patience during the construction.

The original plan was to try and keep the existing roof and block dividing wall , but it became obvious as construction got under way that this was going to cause more problems than it was worth . So after some discussion the existing dividing wall ,roof  and existing slab were totally demolished basically giving the owner a complete new building rather than a refurbished one.

The end result has given Young’s Buses staff a great new facility to work in and has enhanced the street2013-05-28 15.42.28 2013-05-28 15.42.36 IMAG0902scape

Jobs underway

2013-02-09 16.42.35We’re up and running with two new projects a new 4 bed architect designed Queenslander at Keppel Sands and the men are doing it tough struggling to keep focused on their work with the ocean beckoning and  the weather being  fantastic of late.

I need to keep checking that the men remember to take their nailing guns and tallier rather than the tinnies and fishing rods.

IMAG1447We have also commenced work on Young’s Buses Office renovations, which has just about turned in to a total reconstruction.

We elected to remove the existing roof structure rather than back prop it primarily for safety reasons , so we have been left with basically a shell. The restored building will be unrecognizable when completed and will help enhance the streetscape in Hill Street, Yeppoon.
